Blocks & Sheaves
A block is a system of two or more pulleys with a rope or cable threaded between them, usually used to lift or pull heavy loads. A sheave is a pulley with a grooved wheel for holding a belt, wire rope, or rope. Sheaves can be used to redirect a cable or rope, lift loads, and transmit power.
